Artist's Comments

This is a surrel piece I did. The fish took three days, but the octopus took about three weeks -- when I finished I swore I would never draw an octopus again. The original is about 15" by 20", so some of the detail may lost in this image.

This piece was selected by my art teacher to be submitted to the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Contest (under the title "Don't Drink the Water!"). However, it did not win anything.

[Edit: Note: This image looks a bit blurred. To see a better quality image, I reccomend clicking on it to see the larger version.]

absitively superb. =) (Smile)
the detail is amazing... the octopus looks more like it took 3 millenia than 3 weeks...

This is great. I remember seeing this in the main hall a while back. It was my favorite in the display. :) (Smile)

Artists can color the sky red because they know its blue; the rest of us must color the sky as it really is or others might think we're stupid.

Wow, this is excellent. Exspecially the octopus. Sorry it didn't win anything, I think it should have. I really feel for you doing all that detail, gotta love detail. And I LOVE the octopus. Again, great job.
