This is a surrel piece I did. The fish took three days, but the octopus took about three weeks -- when I finished I swore I would never draw an octopus again. The original is about 15" by 20", so some of the detail may lost in this image.
This piece was selected by my art teacher to be submitted to the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Contest (under the title "Don't Drink the Water!"). However, it did not win anything.

I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P

Artists can color the sky red because they know its blue; the rest of us must color the sky as it really is or others might think we're stupid.
